Denisse Piniés

I'm a UX / UI designer born in Venezuela, with more than 8 years of experience in web design and apps. I have a bachelor Degree in Mass Communications from the Catholic Andres Bello University (Caracas, Venezuela) and a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship from GADE Business School (Barcelona, Spain). As I like to undertake, I did the Master for Entrepreneurs at GADE Business School, and because I’m passionate of UX world, I did the UX Research course at UXER School where I reinforced my knowledge to improve the sessions and processes.

More about me...

I currently living in Barcelona, Spain, an incredible city where I have learned a lot and I have improved my skills. I am a passionate person with design, creativity, colors, crafts and balloon twisting. Since I was Little I have been creative, adventurous, dreamy and enterprising at heart. I love what I do and I really consider teamwork is the key to achieve incredible results. I currently work as a UX / UI consultant at Sopra Steria where I have worked on Nestlé, Allianz, La Caixa, AXA and Barcelona Activa projects. Previously I was working for almost 2 years as a designer in Be Republic offering support to the Marketing team of Banco Sabadell.

In my free time I do Social Media and Marketing tasks for my personal enterprise: Beekrafty. I love doing crafts, giving them away and doing balloon twisting.

My UX/UI skills

The world of the user experience fascinates me and this motivates me to be better every day.

In Sopra Steria, depending on the project, we adapt different processes: Fast prototyping or the End to End Methodology.

In the Fast prototyping process I have done: Research and co-creation, wireframing to validate the user experience (lowfi, midfi or hifi), then prepare the visual design and finally polish details to have the final proposal with the final design. This process is so fast, so there is no time to prepare a navigable prototype, but that also depends on the project and the time. After having the final visual design, I make the improvements that must be made and prepare the assets in Zeplin for the developers.

In the End to End methodology, we have more time to deepen to each stage and the most important thing is that throughout this process we iterate to be able to define the functionalities well and, of course, achieve a better solution. The stages that define this process are:

  • User insights: We do interviews with users or related persons to discover their needs.
  • Personas: We define Personas / Proto-personas and their dimensions.
  • Design scope: We validate the challenge and the requirements.
  • Ideation: We define the idea and everything related.
  • Service concept: We define user journeys and the scenario.
  • Prototyping: We create the wireframes (lowfi, midfi, hifi).
  • Visual design: We design the final solution.
  • Validation: We perform the guerrilla test or formal test with users for the final validation of UX / UI.

Each of these stages allows us to learn more about the project and also grow professionally. Of course, all this I do not do it alone. I have a wonderful team with whom I learn every day and it makes me very happy. Thank you guys!

Tools I use...

It mainly uses Sketch and for the delivery of assets I use Zeplin. I also know Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and in general I could say that I know very well Adobe programs. I have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS programming. For navigable prototypes it uses Invision, Marvel and Principle. For management tools and task organization I use Confluence, Trello and Basecamp.

She always made a good impression on her clients and her works was well recognized. Denisse has the maturity and determination to successfully start new ventures. She has the motivation to achieve higher responsabilities and go beyond on her goals. In my opinion she boils down her work plans for two things: passion and knowledge.
